Erin Gafill Soothes Power Politics Through Art
For their work in founding the Big Sur Arts Initiative, Erin Gafill and her husband Tom Birmingham were recently named Champions of the Arts by the Arts Council of Monterey. As a result, Ms. Gafill’s art was selected by Assembly Member Bill Monning to adorn the walls of his Monterey and Sacramento offices. Knowing that her artworks would set the mood for many otherwise tense meetings, Ms. Gafill selected works that she believed would bring a sense of peace to the halls of power in Sacramento.
