CitizenNewscaster.com appreciates and salutes the professionalism of the CNN production team that produced the outstanding video footage displayed above.

The Monterey County Democrats recently hosted Obama Night at the Golden State Theater with a live simulcast of Barack Obama’s acceptance speech direct from Denver. Close to a thousand area democrats came together to witness this historic occasion.

Supporters began lining up. The mood was light and there was an energy winding its way through the crowd, growing stronger as the time neared for the doors to open. People sensed something big was about to happen, something that could change the shape and direction of the

political landscape in America, and people were eager to share in this experience.

Many local area democratic candidates attended the event, including Bill Monning the 27th Assembly District candidate who delivered a motivating message encouraging citizens to get involved and become part of the process. Newly elected 4th District Supervisor, Jane Parker was there as well, acting as master of ceremonies for the evening. Also encouraging citizens to become involved and make a difference was Congressman Sam Farr who joined the evening’s event via a video message.

The crowd in attendance was active with people making new friends, finding old friends, engaging in conversations, sharing opinions, thoughts and ideas, and reaching out to each other finding a common purpose in the process.

Then it was time. In magnificent splendor before a crowd of tens of thousands with millions more watching, Barack Obama made his entrance. It was as if all in attendance at the Golden State Theater were actually there in Colorado. Such is the force of Barack Obam's personality, of his words, of his leadership.

Bulletin:
The CitizenNewscaster.com site is currently being developed. In the coming months we plan to expand our offerings to include streaming radio programming, (details will be posted soon), a video magazine, an editorial section, and a unique community fact finders forum, in which you can set the direction of our reporting and be a contributing producer as well.

CitizenNewscaster.com wants to make it just a bit easier to peer past the haze of main stream media commentary. So, we've embedded a couple videos that we think offer straight, unobstructed lines of sight into the 2008 Democratic Convention without media smoke screens. Above, you'll find Barrack Obama's Convention speech in its entirety. To the left, there's a well produced CNN convention video mash up. Both provide clean and unfiltered snapshots of key convention moments. Plus, click here to view behind-the-scenes video blogs produced by Congressman Sam Farr.

In place of bias and spin, CitizenNewscaster.com proposes the following questions If you can answer these questions, you'll be able to write your own media commentary:

1. Great leaders inspire and empower those they lead, and they encourage innovation and participation from their supporters. Leaders define agendas that promote the most good for the most people while protecting the rights of minority groups. Based on the above criteria, does Barrack Obama seem like someone in which you can invest the authority to lead?

2. What are your biggest concerns? Do they include economic concerns; foreign policy concerns; concerns regarding the morality of war and peace? Did Barrack Obama address your concerns in his speech?
