Think Tank Citizen World

Change Happened. What Now?

Today's Citizens' Think Tank takes us inside the internet caucus at the California State Democratic Convention during a panel discussion on the topic of internet activism. Panelists discuss from where internet activism has grown? They conjecture as to where it may go? They analyze what communities have been actively involved in internet activism? They reveal how internet activism moves accross modes of communication? And they examine the internet communities search for tools and sustainable models. Sponsored by NetRoots, this panel offers thoughtful first person insights into the trajectory of internet Activism.

The podcast is 47 minutes in duration.

"Citizen newscaster does not believe in labels such as “right” and “left”, “liberal” and “conservative”. Such labels are used to divide, separate, and distract people of goodwill, and  only serve to encourage conflict by setting up skirmish lines of disagreement before any discussions begin. Solid negotiations begin by identifying areas of commonality and building on those as a way to move toward agreement on more difficult differences. Rather than seeing the world in terms of right, left, liberal and conservative, and so on ad infinitum, CitizenNewscaster believes that we are all good people with a variety of opinions and perspectives across a spectrum of issues and that as we discuss those issues we will learn and grow and arrive at an intelligent dialog."
